History

Randwick Racecourse held its first race there in June 1833 and originally known as the Sandy Course due to the type of soil.  In the 1860s the Australian Jockey Club moved its headquarters and horse racing has been held there continually ever since. The Sydney Fair will be held in the Kensington Room.

Royal Randwick is located on Alison Road in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and is approximately 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD and Sydney International and Domestic Airport.

By Public Transport

By Bus:

Normal bus services run between Randwick and Central Station. Plan your trip at transportnsw.info or phone 131 500

By Taxi/Uber/Hire Car:

Taxis enter Royal Randwick Racecourse through the Ascot Street gates. The set-down and pick up point is at the taxi rank. Taxis are not permitted to stop on Alison Road.

By Car:

For guests driving to the venue, parking is free. Please enter off Alison Road, Randwick where parking attendants will direct you to either the Multi Storey car park or along the Members Drive.
